The HCRI understands the importance of the insights of clinicians working in the field and we are offering the opportunity to apply for grants to support small research projects. The clinician may have little or no laboratory-based experience and the grant will provide access to our team and our facilities to support the project.

Proposals may be one of two streams:

The proposal will focus on data analysis through bioinformatics or machine learning based on the data obtained from the HaYadata database
Wet-lab based research can be carried out in the HCRI facilities and the recipient will be given access to our state-of-the-art equipment, facilities and resources, including access to our tissue bank, in order to carry out their project

Understanding project design at the HCRI

Projects can be conducted from basic wet-lab practices and in vitro assays through in vivo and right into clinical trials. Of course, not all projects require the full life cycle which is available but your consulting team will be able to advise on the best course for your research.

As per the shown flow chart, projects move through 4 key milestones:

Our experienced and dedicated team will review your existing project plan and concept and advise on the best path on moving forward. Further, the HCRI team can connect you to the relevant leading clinician that can serve as the best advisor in said field. The team are available to support and consult throughout the project
The project is scoped and the key milestones within the project defined. It will be determined what aspects of preclinical and clinical investigations are required and how best to employ these
We have a host of immunotherapy focused assays which are adapted and employed to test a variety of anti-cancer therapeutics. All can be performed under the GMP conditions using the accessible human tissue samples available through the institute
In addition to the invaluable insights from clinicians and clinical scientists alike, clinical data is also available for your use in order to make informed decisions regarding the progression and planning of the project. The data can be used as a supporting resource to make assumptions around the toxicity and response rates of certain therapeutic agents
